COMMISSIONING OF A FULLY EQUIPPED NLNG-SUPPORTEDINTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU) COMPLEX AT NDUTH, OKOLOBIRI.
A fully equipped intensive care unit (ICU) complex with modern facilities was handed over to NDUTH Okolobiri on the 3rd of April 2023.
The Chief Medical Director Prof Dimie Ogoina in his welcome address thanked the management of NLNG for donating a world class intensive care unit (ICU) to NDUTH for quality health care delivery. The CMD said it is a landmark event and one of the biggest and most impactful projects, ever built in Okolobiri in the Niger Delta region and beyond. He high-lighted some cross cutting benefits of the ICU which aligns with the core mandate of the hospital such as research, training of (ICU)Specialist Nurses, Doctors and accreditation etc.
The representative of the NLNG Mr Andy Odeh in his address said the project is an initiative of the NLNG as part of its hospital support programme which will boost Health care delivery, save more lives in helping to build a better Nigeria, and urged NDUTH Okolobiri to put into effective use.
Speaking on the project overview was the Director of Administration NDUTH Okolobiri Mr A.U. Isaac.
A goodwill message was delivered by Chief Franklin Igbodo on behalf of His Eminence king Edmond Daukoru chairman NLNG Board.
The Hon Commissioner of health ably represented by Dr Mrs Toyin Azebi Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health,in her address, applauded NLNG andappealed to NDUTH to properly maintain the facility.
Invited guest at the ceremony were Prof Mrs kunle-Olowu, Prof E Etebu, Hon Godbless Onyinke, House Committee on Health, Royal fathers and Staff of NDUTH Okolobiri, etc
The high point of the ceremony was the unveiling of the plaque by Dr Mrs Toyin Azebi.
