ORIENTATION EXERCISE FOR NEWLY EMPLOYED STAFF

On the 11th of September, 2023, the management of Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital Okolobiri organized an orientation exercise for its newly employed staff.

The Chief Medical Director (C.M.D) Professor Dimie Ogoina in his opening remarks welcomed the newly employed staff. He commended the Prosperity Government led by His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State who has graciously employed over 350 which is unprecedented staff in the history of NDUTH.

Professor Dimie Ogoina noted that this employment will go a long way in improving training of Undergraduates and Postgraduates Manpower in the State. He stressed that the orientation exercise is mainly to create an awareness about the hospital policy document, strategic goals of the hospital which includes the Vision and Mission Statements, Core Values and some essential aspects of the hospital.

Finally the C.M.D informed the newly employed staff that they are now stakeholders of the hospital, hence they should work as a team to ensure that services are rendered to the benefits of Patients.

The Chairman Medical Advisory Committee(CMAC) Dr. Johnbull Jumbo in his remarks welcomed the newly employed staff to NDUTH Okolobiri. He commended the CMD for the efforts made in regards to the employment. He talked on work ethics and need for discipline.

Dr. Oyeyemi in his speech talked on Infection, Prevention and Control, highlighting the need to maintain strong hygienic practices within the environment.

Dr. Pharm Austin Onabor, talked on Quality Improvements obtainable in NDUTH Okolobiri.

Thereafter, questions were entertained from the newly employed staff. The CMD in his response promised to address the issues raised.
